Corsica Ferries Revives Ro-Pax Newbuilding Program with Flexible, Eco-Friendly Designs

180 meters long, optimized for Bastia port, and each will carry around 2,200 passengers and 500 cars. The phased delivery will see up to three vessels built, featuring methanol dual-fuel capability and wind-assisted propulsion, reflecting the company's environmental commitments. While the shipyard has not been finalized, several major Chinese shipbuilders, including Guangzhou Shipyard International, China Merchants Industry, Jinling Shipyard (Weihai), and Wuhu Shipyard, are under consideration. This move marks a strategic renewal for Corsica Ferries as it modernizes its aging fleet and highlights the growing influence of Chinese yards in the passenger and ro-pax sector.
