Hartmann Group and US-based Seaboard Marine have expanded their boxship newbuild series with a seventh vessel ordered from Taizhou Sanfu Ship Engineering in China. The new 3,500 teu containership, part of a dual-fuel LNG program, highlights continued maritime innovation focusing on environmental efficiency. Launched in 2021, the series initially included three ships, with options for three more. Remarkably, the new addition is priced at approximately $75 million, a significant jump from the initial six ships, which were each valued at about $60 million. The dual-fuel design by German firm HB Hunte sets these vessels apart in terms of ecological credentials. Currently, the delivery schedule for the newly ordered ship remains undisclosed. Meanwhile, four of the original six vessels have already joined Seaboard Marine ’s fleet, with the remaining two expected to come online this year and in 2026. This expansion underscores both companies' commitments to promoting sustainable shipping practices and enhancing capacity in regional trades.
