Guangzhou Shipyard International (GSI) has successfully delivered a new dual-fuel pure car truck carrier (PCTC) in Guangzhou's Nansha district, Guangdong province. This vessel aims to enhance the shipping capabilities of Chinese car brands on a global scale. The PCTC, known as BYD Zhengzhou, can accommodate 7,000 vehicles and was constructed by GSI for famed electric vehicle manufacturer BYD Group. During a naming ceremony at the shipyard, the vessel's specifications were highlighted, including its length of 199.9 meters and a width of 38 meters. The ship is capable of reaching speeds up to 18.5 knots, approximately 35 kilometers per hour. It is powered by an LNG dual-fuel propulsion system and features a permanent magnet shaft generator, aligning with modern environmental standards and efficiency requirements.
