Kumiai Navigation has made a  move to renew its fleet by commissioning a new ultramax bulk carrier from Nantong Cosco KHI Ship Engineering Co (Nacks) in China. This decision aligns with the company's ongoing fleet replacement plan. According to the managing director, Tomomaru Kuroyanagi, the vessel, which will have a deadweight tonnage of 64,000, is scheduled for delivery in the second quarter of 2028. This order highlights Kumiai Navigation 's commitment to modernizing its fleet while potentially enhancing its operational efficiency. Based in Singapore, Kumiai Navigation operates as a subsidiary of Kumiai Senpaku , a Japan-based shipping company. The strategic fleet update reflects the company's long-term vision to stay competitive in the global maritime industry by utilizing newer and potentially more efficient vessels.
