Capital Ship Management Corp, a prominent Greek shipping firm, announced on 4th February the acquisition of two state-of-the-art vessels, named M/T AISOPOS and M/T AIOLOS. These vessels were constructed by New Times Shipbuilding in China and are now officially registered in Greece. The newly delivered ships are eco-type product tankers, each boasting a deadweight tonnage of 115,621. They have been granted the prestigious 100A1 class notation by Lloyd’s Register, indicating adherence to the highest safety and construction standards. Additionally, Lloyd’s Register has certified the vessels' advanced cybersecurity features. These vessels are groundbreaking in their incorporation of cold ironing technology, which allows them to reduce emissions while docked. They are equipped with a shaft generator to enhance fuel efficiency and comply with IMO Phase III environmental regulations. They can also operate on LNG and feature variable frequency drives for large pumps and fans, as well as a high-efficiency rudder, all aiming to maximize operational efficiency and sustainability.
