EuroDry Ltd., a global operator in dry bulk shipping, has announced its commitment to fleet modernization with the construction of two advanced ultramax bulk carriers. The vessels, each with a deadweight tonnage of 63,500 DWT, are being built by Nantong Xiangyu Shipbuilding in China. Designed to meet the stringent EEDI Phase 3 environmental standards, the vessels are equipped with eco-friendly technology and geared systems, enhancing their operational efficiency and environmental sustainability. Delivery is scheduled for the second and third quarters of 2027, marking a significant step forward in EuroDry’s strategy to align its operations with industry-wide decarbonization goals.

The total cost for the newbuildings is approximately $71.8 million, which EuroDry plans to finance through a combination of debt and equity.
