Designed to align with stringent environmental standards, the ships will operate on LNG with future adaptability to bio-methane, one of the most eco-friendly fuels available. Enhanced with digital technologies, including Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT), these vessels will offer improved route planning, real-time monitoring, and cargo management, ensuring efficient and reliable operations. Each ship will meet the International Maritime Organisation’s (IMO) Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI) and Carbon Intensity Indicator (CII) requirements. They will include energy-saving features, such as a streamlined hull, variable-frequency drive motors, shaft generators, LED lighting, and high-performance hull coatings, marking PIL’s continued dedication to greener shipping solutions.
