ST Engineering officially inaugurated its new Gul Yard shipyard in Singapore on 19 September 2024, following its acquisition in February 2023 for $95 million. The state-of-the-art facility replaces the existing Tuas Yard, which will cease operations at the end of 2024 upon lease expiration.

Significantly larger than its predecessor, the Gul Yard is strategically designed to enhance ST Engineering's capabilities in handling more complex and larger-scale marine projects. This facility is set to improve the company’s operational efficiency, significantly reduce project turnaround times, and expand its market reach. Key sectors targeted include offshore renewables, support vessels for the oil and gas industry, and extensive refit and upgrade services for both domestic and international customers.In conjunction with the Gul Yard's opening, ST Engineering plans to integrate its Benoi Yard into a unified operational framework, creating a seamless network aimed at optimising project management, resource distribution, and capacity planning.

A standout feature of the Gul Yard is its cutting-edge 5G digital infrastructure, facilitating the use of AI-driven technologies. The yard incorporates a proprietary integrated management system, which governs operations from workflow management to predictive maintenance. This advanced system enhances efficiency by predicting equipment failures and offering real-time monitoring, ensuring minimal operational disruptions.
