Finnish shipbuilder Meyer Turku has successfully delivered Mein Schiff 7, a groundbreaking methanol-ready cruise ship, to the German cruise line TUI Cruises. The delivery ceremony for the 111,500 GT vessel marks a significant milestone in sustainable maritime innovation. Mein Schiff 7, the latest addition to the Mein Schiff series, stands out as the first ship from Meyer Turku with methanol capability. Designed to minimize environmental impact, this cruise ship runs exclusively on low-emission marine diesel with a maximum sulfur content of 0.1%. Additionally, it features a shore power connection and catalytic converters, ensuring reduced emissions while docked.

 The vessel's ability to operate on methanol positions it at the forefront of eco-friendly maritime technology. Utilizing green methanol in the future will make Mein Schiff 7’s propulsion power nearly CO2 neutral. The ship is equipped with an Auramarine methanol fuel supply system, reinforcing its commitment to sustainability. Flying the Maltese flag, Mein Schiff 7 boasts impressive dimensions with a length of 316 meters and a width of 35.8 meters. It offers accommodations for up to 2,894 passengers and 1,447 crew members, promising an environmentally conscious and luxurious cruising experience.
