Norwegian Firm Invests $75.6M in Eco-Friendly Bulk Carriers

This ambitious project has garnered support from the fleet renewal program for shortsea shipping.The first of these self-discharging bulk carriers is anticipated to be delivered and join the fleet by the end of 2025. All four vessels will operate under the Norwegian flag.This development follows Hagland Shipping 's recent expansion in November, when the company took delivery of the last of three new hybrid bulk carriers from Royal Bodewes . Initially, Hagland had contracted the Dutch shipbuilder for two battery-hybrid bulk carriers but opted to acquire an additional 5,000 dwt bulk carrier in February 2022.
