Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. (“K” LINE) announced the delivery of Puteri Kelantan, a newly built liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier for Petronas LNG Ltd. (PLL), on 24 Sep 2026. The vessel was constructed at Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding (Group) Co., Ltd in China. The LNG carrier is owned by a joint venture company led by “K” LINE and is of the same type as two other vessels delivered for PLL earlier this year, in May and June 2026. A naming ceremony for Puteri Kelantan was held on 2 Sep 2026, ahead of the vessel's handover. The delivery adds to a fleet of similar LNG carriers built for PLL under agreements with “K” LINE, reflecting continued cooperation between the Japanese shipping company and the Malaysian state energy firm's LNG shipping arm. The vessels are intended to support PLL's LNG transportation requirements as part of Malaysia's broader liquefied natural gas export operations. “K” LINE did not disclose additional technical specifications or the vessel's planned deployment route in the announcement.
