Rome-based Brullo Shipping Group has ordered three oil and chemical tankers of 40,800 dwt each from Anhui Shipyard, part of Anhui Port & Shipping Sealand Equipment Co. Ltd. in China, as part of a fleet renewal programme spanning its operating companies Augustadue and Navalmed. The deal, supported legally by Lawrende Dardani, is based on a design from SDARI, the Shanghai Merchant Ship Design and Research Institute, adapted by Brullo's technical team. Delivery of the three vessels is scheduled for 2029. The newbuildings are designed for economical fuel consumption and reduced environmental impact, with technology the company says is attracting interest from other industry players. Raffaele and Gabriele Brullo said the investment reflects a long-standing strategy of fleet renewal and efficiency gains to meet increasingly demanding market conditions. The order follows the recent entry into service of the Italian-flagged tanker Hiera M, built by Chinese yard Zhoushan Dashenzhou to meet stringent global energy-efficiency standards; a sister ship ordered from the same yard in December 2025 is due in 2028. Since 2025 the group has also taken delivery of the Primo M (18,500 dwt, February 2025), the Ginostra M (18,500 dwt, September 2025) and the Alicudi M (9,000 dwt, February 2026), while retiring three older vessels — Rinella M, Basiluzzo M and Panarea M — during 2026. The group's fleet, which remains under Italian flag, now totals 17 ships. Separately, Brullo's superyacht division unveiled two new yachts at the Cannes Yachting Festival, both designed and built by Filippetti Yachts.
