Swiss shipowner and manager Suisse-Atlantique Group S.A has confirmed an order for two 40,500 DWT open-hatch, box-shaped vessels at Jiangmen Nanyang Shipyard (JNS). No price or individual delivery dates have been disclosed for the pair. The new order comes on top of five 64,400 DWT ultramax bulk carriers already placed with the yard, bringing Suisse-Atlantique's total orderbook at JNS to seven vessels. Deliveries across the program are scheduled between the third quarter of 2028 and the first quarter of 2029. The company said the newbuilding program includes vessels ordered both for its own account and in partnership with external investors. According to TrustedDocks orderbook data, the order was reported on 02 Sep 2026 and the two open-hatch vessels will be built to run on conventional fuel. Suisse-Atlantique has been given the full newbuilding supervision mandate for all seven ships and will take over their full technical management once they are delivered. "The program also demonstrates the group's capabilities as a third-party ship manager," the company said in a statement. Beyond managing its own fleet, Suisse-Atlantique offers newbuilding supervision along with long-term technical and commercial management services for vessels owned by external shipowners and investment partners. The latest order underscores the group's continued expansion of its dry bulk newbuilding program at JNS, spanning both open-hatch and ultramax vessel types.
