Maran Tankers Management (MTM), a unit of Greek shipping company Angelicoussis Group, has taken delivery of the fourth of eight LNG dual-fuel oil tankers being built by China's New Times Shipbuilding. The 156,000-dwt vessel, named Maran Myrsini, is capable of running on
both LNG and conventional marine fuels and will operate under the Greek flag. MTM has not disclosed further details about the tanker, including its intended trading deployment. The delivery follows that of the third vessel in the series, Maran Menelaus, which MTM received in July. The eight-ship newbuilding programme forms part of a broader push by Angelicoussis Group to expand its dual-fuel tanker fleet as shipowners increasingly turn to LNG propulsion to meet tightening emissions regulations and improve fuel flexibility across their tanker operations.
