Seaspan Energy, headquartered in North Vancouver, British Columbia, has successfully launched the Seaspan Lions, the second in a series of three LNG bunkering vessels with a capacity of 7,600 cubic meters. Named after the prominent Ch’ich’iyúy Elxwíkn peaks in Metro Vancouver, known as the "Twin Sisters" or "Two Sisters" to the Squamish Nation, the vessel joins its predecessor, the Seaspan Garibaldi, in Seaspan Energy's fleet. These vessels are slated to facilitate LNG fueling services for ships along the West Coast of North America, marking Seaspan Energy as the first provider of LNG bunkering in the Pacific Northwest. With a focus on reducing emissions and underwater noise, the vessels, each measuring 112.8 meters in length, 18.6 meters in width, and boasting a draft of 5 meters, were constructed in China by CIMC Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering. Designed in collaboration with Vard Marine Inc., they aim to offer safe, efficient, and environmentally friendly refueling options for various ship types.
