Crystal Cruises, part of A&K Travel Group (AKTG), has formally ordered a third luxury cruise vessel from Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri, with delivery scheduled for 2034. The order exercises an option under a shipbuilding contract originally signed in 2024. According to TrustedDocks orderbook data, the order was reported on 08 Nov 2024. The newbuild will measure approximately 62,000 GT, with a length overall of 246.4 meters and a breadth of 32.2 meters. It will accommodate 650 passengers across all-balcony cabins, including a top-tier Owner's Suite located at the
stern, additional suites with separate living rooms and bedrooms, and accommodations designed for solo travelers. The ship will feature a wraparound promenade, open-air spaces, and a crew ratio of 1.16 passengers per crew member, among the highest in the luxury cruise sector. Dining options will include Japanese, Italian and French cuisine, along with an outdoor dining terrace. Crystal Cruises was established in 1988 as a North American subsidiary of the Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha group, later becoming a subsidiary of Genting Hong Kong Limited in 2015. Genting Hong Kong went bankrupt amid the coronavirus pandemic, and A&K Group acquired Crystal Cruises in June 2022. The company currently operates two ships, Crystal Symphony (51,044 GT) and Crystal Serenity (68,870 GT). Under its 2024 newbuild programme, Crystal Cruises plans three new vessels emphasizing personalized service and spacious design. The first, Crystal Grace, is under construction at Fincantieri's Marghera shipyard and due to enter service in June 2028, followed by a second vessel in May 2031 and the third ship in 2034.
