Xiamen-based bulker owner Amoysailing Maritime has placed an order for four 82,000 dwt kamsarmax vessels at Jiangsu Watts Energy & Engineering, marking the Chinese shipyard's first newbuilding contract. The deal represents a significant milestone for Jiangsu Watts Energy & Engineering, which secures its debut order in the newbuilding market
through this agreement with Amoysailing Maritime. Kamsarmax bulkers, typically ranging around 82,000 dwt, are widely used in the dry bulk trade for transporting commodities such as coal, iron ore and grain, and are designed to maximize cargo capacity while remaining compatible with major bulk terminals, including Kamsar in Guinea, from which the vessel class takes its name. Amoysailing Maritime, based in Xiamen, continues to expand its bulker fleet with this order, reflecting ongoing investment activity in the dry bulk shipping segment. Further details regarding delivery schedules, contract value or additional specifications of the vessels have not been disclosed.
