CSSC Dalian Shipbuilding, working with CSSC Trading, delivered the 307,000-dwt crude oil tanker Front Fraser on 18 Aug 2026, completing the vessel 43 days ahead of the contractual schedule. The ship was built for Norway's Seatankers. The Front Fraser is a new-generation VLCC independently developed and designed by Dalian Shipbuilding. It measures approximately 333 metres in overall length, with a moulded breadth
of 60 metres and a moulded depth of 30 metres. Its deck area exceeds 18,000 square metres, while the total painting area tops 540,000 square metres. Hull-form optimisation, improved energy-saving appendages and the adoption of a six-cylinder main engine give the tanker markedly better energy efficiency and environmental performance, with technical indicators described as world-class. The vessel offers strong adaptability to ports and waterways, capable of carrying more than 2 million barrels of crude oil at a design draught of 20.5 metres and transiting the Strait of Malacca without restrictions. Built under a design philosophy emphasising green, eco-friendly and energy-efficient operation, the Front Fraser is equipped with exhaust-gas scrubbers, which are expected to deliver annual fuel-cost savings of approximately RMB 35 million.
