On 18 Aug 2026, CSSC Jiangnan Shipyard (Group) Co., Ltd. successfully delivered the eighth vessel in its series of 99,000 CBM Very Large Ethane Carriers (VLECs), named GAS BEGONIA (Hull No. H2715). The vessel was built for Southwest Maritime Limited, continuing the shipyard's ongoing production of this specialized class of gas carriers. The 99,000 CBM VLEC series is designed to transport ethane in large volumes, supporting the growing demand for ethane as a feedstock in petrochemical industries.
