CMES Receives Fourth LNG Carrier in Eight-Vessel Series

DSIC's second-generation 175,000-cbm LNG carrier design, incorporating technical and production improvements based on prior experience. The vessel features a Mark III Flex membrane cargo containment system, a WinGD 5X72DF-2.1 dual-fuel low-speed main engine, and advanced cargo-handling and reliquefaction systems. It also includes energy-saving features such as an optimized hull form and waste-gas economizer, and is compatible with most major LNG terminals worldwide. During testing, SEA ENERGY achieved zero leakage in containment and piping systems and completed a simulated LNG terminal unloading operation in 10.5 hours. The vessel is financed through a lease by Kunlun Financial Leasing and will operate under a long-term charter to PetroChina International for global LNG transportation. This delivery strengthens CMES’ LNG fleet and highlights collaboration among China’s energy, shipping, shipbuilding, and financial sectors.
