NANJING TANKER CORP has approved the construction of four 50,000 DWT MR tankers at Guangzhou Shipyard International Co., Ltd. (GSI). The vessels will be built for the company’s wholly owned subsidiary, Nanjing Tanker (Singapore) Ltd., with a total investment not exceeding 182.8 million USD. The newbuilds are designed to optimize the company’s refined oil fleet capacity and improve operational capabilities. They will comply with Tier III emission standards and meet the third phase Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI) requirements. Additionally, the ships will feature dual-fuel methanol-ready designs to enhance environmental performance. Delivery of the four tankers is scheduled between 2028 and 2029. This order reflects NANJING TANKER CORP’s strategic focus on sustainable development and competitiveness in the refined oil transportation market. The decision was unanimously approved by the company’s board of directors on 17 Jul 2026, following review by the strategic and sustainable development committee.
