China Merchants Energy Shipping Co Ltd has placed an order for new tankers with Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Co Ltd (CSSC DSIC). The contract covers vessels with a deadweight tonnage of 114,000, designed as conventional fuel tankers equipped with scrubbers. The delivery of these vessels is scheduled between January and December 2029. The inclusion of scrubber technology aligns with current environmental regulations aimed at reducing sulfur emissions from ships. CSSC DSIC, a major Chinese shipbuilder, continues to secure significant orders in the tanker segment, reinforcing its position in the maritime construction industry.
