Ernst Russ and joint venture partner Eimskip are progressing their project for two 2,280 TEU containership newbuildings. Felix Gärtner from Ernst Russ recently visited the Maritime Research Institute Netherlands (MARIN) with Eimskip's Hilmar Pétur Valgarðsson to review design efficiency optimizations. The collaboration focuses on improving hull performance and propeller efficiency to reduce fuel consumption and emissions. The next project milestone is steel cutting, planned for the second quarter of 2027, with vessel delivery expected in the second quarter of 2028. This initiative reflects the companies' commitment to enhancing fleet sustainability through innovative maritime design and engineering.
