On 24 Jun 2026, Nantong Xiamen Offshore & Marine Engineering Co., Ltd. signed a shipbuilding contract with Bangladesh’s AKIJ RESOURCE GROUP for four 63,800 DWT bulk carriers. The agreement marks an in-depth cooperation between the two companies. Nantong Xiamen Offshore & Marine Engineering is known for its shipbuilding capabilities, while AKIJ RESOURCE GROUP is a prominent enterprise in Bangladesh. This contract reflects growing maritime collaboration between Chinese shipbuilders and South Asian enterprises. The four bulk carriers will enhance AKIJ RESOURCE GROUP’s shipping capacity upon delivery.
