MOL Signs Charter for Low-Carbon Ammonia Carriers with JERA

This agreement follows a memorandum of understanding signed in 2025 and aims to establish a commercial-scale value chain for low-carbon ammonia, a clean energy source that emits no CO2 at combustion. MOL is advancing its environmental strategy under its BLUE ACTION 2035 plan, targeting net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. The contract marks a significant step toward Japan's first large-scale transport of low-carbon ammonia.
