On 9 June 2026, Damen Shipyards Group signed a contract with Carmet Tug Company for the delivery of a Multi Cat (MuC) 2309 tug at the Seawork exhibition in Southampton. The vessel, built at DAMEN SHIPYARDS GORINCHE, will be delivered within weeks under Damen's stock building programme, with delivery scheduled from 1 July to 31 December 2026. Carmet, based in Merseyside, UK, operates several Damen vessels and chose the MuC 2309 for its rapid availability and proven performance. The tug measures 23.4 meters in length, 9 meters in width, with a deadweight of 140 and features a diesel hybrid fuel system. Damen is customizing the vessel to Carmet's specifications, including installing a Damen Marine NOx Reduction System to meet IMO Tier III emission standards and aligning with UK Maritime and Coastguard Agency requirements. The contract highlights Damen's capacity for fast delivery through stock vessels.
