Euroseas Ltd. has declared options for the construction of two additional 1,800 TEU container ships at Nantong CIMC Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering Co., Ltd in China. The vessels, conventional fuel-powered and gearless, are scheduled for delivery between December 2028 and March 2029. Each ship is valued
at approximately $32.26 million, with financing through a mix of debt and equity. These newbuildings are sister ships to two vessels ordered earlier in April 2026, reflecting Euroseas' ongoing fleet modernization strategy. The company currently operates a fleet of 21 container carriers and plans to expand to 33 vessels by 2029, increasing total capacity to 97,396 TEU. Euroseas operates primarily in the feeder and sub-6,000 TEU segment, which it identifies as having favorable market fundamentals due to a tight supply and aging fleet. The order was announced on 15 Jun 2026.
