Sallaum Lines has signed a contract with Xiamen Shipbuilding Industry Co., Ltd. for the construction of four new-generation Pure Car and Truck Carriers (PCTCs) with a capacity of 8,600 CEU each. These vessels feature a dual-fuel design capable of running on LNG,
Very Low Sulphur Fuel Oil (VLSFO), Marine Gas Oil (MGO), and are ammonia-ready. Measuring 199.90 metres in length with a 38-metre beam and 46-metre air draft, the ships include five liftable decks to transport passenger cars, light commercial vehicles, heavy ro-ro equipment, and project cargoes. These newbuilds represent the largest PCTCs in Sallaum Lines' history. The company has also been advancing its low-emission fleet by deploying LNG-powered vessels and integrating energy-saving technologies such as photovoltaic systems, hull air lubrication, and self-polishing antifouling coatings.
