CSSC Starts Building Largest LNG Carrier for QatarEnergy

build 24 QC-Max-class LNG carriers valued at over 56 billion yuan ($8.3 billion), marking the largest shipbuilding order ever recorded. Each carrier will measure 344 meters in length, 53.6 meters in width, and have a draft of 12 meters. The ships will have a capacity of 271,000 cubic meters of LNG, approximately 57 percent more than standard LNG carriers, which typically hold up to 174,000 cubic meters. This project highlights significant advancements in LNG shipping capacity and cooperation between Chinese shipbuilding and Middle Eastern energy sectors.
