BW LPG Ltd has signed a contract with HD HYUNDAI HEAVY INDUSTRIES - GUNSAN SHIPYARD for the construction of eight 90,000 cbm Panamax Very Large Gas Carriers (VLGCs). The deal, valued at approximately US$940 million, was confirmed on 30 May 2026. These dual-fuel LPG carriers are scheduled for delivery sequentially from January 2029 through June 2030. The newbuildings form part of BW LPG's fleet renewal program aimed at enhancing operational and commercial flexibility. BW LPG operates a fleet of about 50 VLGCs and is recognized as a leading owner and operator in the LPG shipping sector. The company continues to invest in vessels featuring LPG dual-fuel propulsion technology to support sustainable shipping practices.
