Asyad Shipping of Oman has officially delivered the Muscat LNG, a 174,000 cbm LNG carrier, in May 2026, with the Musandam LNG expected to follow in June 2026. Both vessels were built at the HD Hyundai Samho shipyard in South Korea and are chartered long-term to Oman LNG. These modern eco-LNG carriers feature advanced dual-fuel main engines with shaft generators and ALS systems, reflecting Asyad’s fleet renewal program focused on high-spec membrane ships. While new engine technologies bring operational challenges such as gas injection timing and methane slip management, Asyad and Oman LNG crews are supported through initiatives like the Toolbox LNG Club, which facilitates knowledge sharing among engineers and officers. The addition of these vessels contributes to the growing quality LNG fleet and supports stable long-term contracts in the sector.
