Japanese shipping company Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha (K Line) has confirmed the naming ceremony for a newly built liquefied natural gas (LNG) vessel. The vessel is designated to serve the LNG export terminal in Kitimat, British Columbia, Canada. This terminal is operated by LNG Canada, a joint venture comprising Shell, Petronas, PetroChina, KOGAS, and Mitsubishi. The new LNG vessel will support the transportation needs of this major export facility. The naming ceremony marks a key milestone in the deployment of K Line’s fleet to the growing LNG export market in the Pacific Northwest.
