Evergreen Marine Corporation announced on 14 May that its board approved the order of five 24,000-TEU LNG dual-fuel container ships. The vessels will be built by CSSC Guangzhou Shipyard International Co., Ltd., with the contract valued between USD 1.31 billion and USD 1.475 billion. This order reflects Evergreen's ongoing strategy to expand its green fleet and represents a significant development in the ultra-large container ship market. The new ships will contribute to reducing emissions by utilizing LNG dual-fuel technology.
