Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding has named two 174,000 cbm LNG carriers, Puteri Johor and Puteri Kedah, at its western facility in Shanghai. Both vessels were delivered more than five months ahead of schedule. The ships are based on Hudong-Zhonghua's fifth-generation "Changheng Series" design, featuring advanced hydrodynamic optimization technologies. They were built for a joint project between Petronas and Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha. Hudong-Zhonghua has delivered over 60 large LNG carriers to date and holds an orderbook of nearly 60 more vessels, with production planned through 2030. This achievement highlights the shipyard's ongoing role in LNG carrier construction.
