Udupi Cochin Shipyard Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Cochin Shipyard Ltd, has secured an order from Ocean Sparkle, an Adani Group company, for the construction of four ASD (Azimuthing Stern Drive) tugs. Each tug will have a 70-tonne bollard pull capacity. The contract value is estimated between ₹100 crore and ₹250 crore. This order highlights Udupi-CSL's growing role in the Indian shipbuilding sector. The tugs will enhance Ocean Sparkle's fleet capabilities for port and offshore operations.
