VARD is investing in a new floating dock at Vard Langsten to enhance capacity and execution for newbuild, conversion, and service projects. Construction will begin in Q3 2026 at Vard Shipyards Romania – Tulcea, with completion targeted for Q3 2027. The new dock aims to improve
flexibility, planning, and delivery reliability while reducing dependence on external dock capacity for critical operations. According to CEO Cathrine Kristiseter Marti, the investment strengthens VARD’s execution capability and competitiveness by increasing flexibility and capacity. SVP Yard Director Odd Henrik Iversen highlighted that the dock will enable handling more project types and running multiple projects simultaneously, while improving logistics and efficiency. VARD, a subsidiary of the FINCANTIERI Group, is a major global designer and shipbuilder of specialized vessels, and this investment supports its ambition to strengthen its position across the value chain.
