China’s Hengli Heavy Industry has signed a contract with European shipowner BEACON TANKERS for four Suezmax crude oil tankers of 158,000 DWT, marking their first collaboration. Hengli has made Suezmax tankers a core vessel type, securing around 20 orders this year, including nine
from Greece’s Dynacom Tankers and one from Uthalden. All vessels are based on Hengli’s in-house designs to support standardized production. As of 30 April, Hengli had secured 126 new ship orders in 2026, surpassing its 2025 total of 115 vessels. The company is also advancing in high-end segments with orders for LPG dual-fuel ultra-large ammonia carriers and LNG dual-fuel ultra-large crude carriers. On 5 May, Hengli named two 82,000 DWT bulk carriers for Dynacom, continuing their partnership which includes VLCC and bulk carrier deliveries.
