KSS LINE LTD. has placed an order with HD HYUNDAI HEAVY INDUSTRIES - GUNSAN SHIPYARD for the construction of three 90,000 DWT Very Large Gas Carriers (VLGCs) equipped with dual-fuel LPG propulsion engines. The vessels are scheduled for delivery between January and August 2029. Two of the newbuilds will be chartered long-term to BGN Group, and one to GYXIS CORPORATION, with combined contract values totaling approximately KRW 700 billion. These environmentally friendly VLGCs are designed to transit both the old and new Panama Canals, reducing waiting times and enhancing compliance with global environmental regulations. This investment follows KSS LINE's strategy to strengthen its gas carrier fleet and expand its market presence amid global economic uncertainties. The new vessels will further enhance the company’s competitiveness in LPG transportation and contribute to its medium- to long-term fleet sustainability.
