Everllence Passes Factory Test for Ammonia Engine

The ME-LGIA engine builds on Everllence’s existing methanol and LPG platforms and includes safety features tailored for ammonia use, such as specialized maintenance systems, sensors, ventilation, and double-walled piping. This milestone marks a significant step toward commercial deployment of ammonia propulsion, moving beyond laboratory and pilot phases. While challenges remain in commercial, safety, and fuel supply aspects, Everllence plans to offer the engine in six bore sizes with retrofit options, signaling ammonia’s growing role in maritime decarbonisation.
