On 22 Apr 2026, Taizhou Kouan Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. signed a contract to build four 62,000 DWT multi-purpose heavy-lift vessels for Haitong International Shipping Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Fujian Haitong Development Co., Ltd. This agreement follows an earlier contract signed on 7 Jan 2026 between the same parties for seven 60,800 DWT forecastle-controlled multi-purpose heavy-lift vessels. The new contract reinforces the ongoing cooperation between the shipbuilder and the shipping company within the year. These vessels are designed to support diverse cargo transport needs, enhancing the fleet capabilities of Haitong International Shipping.
