Akrotiri Tankers, owned by Marielena Procopiou and Constantinos Lampsias, has placed an order for two new tankers at New Times Shipbuilding in China. The order includes a 157,000 DWT Suezmax crude oil tanker and a 73,000 DWT LR1 coated tanker. This marks Akrotiri's first entry into the Suezmax sector while reinforcing its position in the LR1 category. The deliveries of these vessels are scheduled for 2029. Akrotiri Tankers has previously collaborated with New Times Shipbuilding, and this latest order continues that partnership. The addition of these newbuildings is part of the company's fleet expansion strategy.
