Singapore-headquartered Norse Shipholding has contracted Fujian Chuanzheng Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. to build four 1,800 TEU feeder container ships, with two additional vessels as options. The vessels, named Bangkok Max, will measure 172 meters in length overall, 28.4 meters in moulded breadth, 14.5 meters in moulded depth, and have a design draught of 8.5 meters. These ships are designed for flexibility to accommodate frequent port calls in Southeast and Northeast Asia. The vessels will be classed with DNV, ensuring compliance with high standards of safety, quality, and performance. This contract highlights ongoing China-Norway cooperation in shipping and shipbuilding amid a growing feeder container ship market.
