China State Shipbuilding Corporation’s Chengxi Shipyard has delivered the 84,500-dwt bulk carrier CSPC AQUARIUS, built by CSSC Chengxi Yangzhou Shipyard for CITIC Financial Leasing. This marks the shipyard’s 13th newbuilding delivery of the year. CSPC AQUARIUS is a high-performance multi-purpose bulk carrier designed to transport dry bulk commodities, pulp, and containers. It features large box-shaped cargo holds with wide openings and four heavy-lift deck cranes for flexible loading. The vessel incorporates energy-efficient technologies, including an optimized hull and upgraded propulsion system, reducing fuel consumption and emissions while complying with international environmental regulations. The construction team completed the launch-to-sea trials phase in just 55 days, setting a new record for the series. Following delivery, CSPC AQUARIUS will enter international service, supporting global shipping with efficient and environmentally sustainable cargo transport.
