Meyer Werft has introduced Project "Vision," the world's first 100% battery-electric cruise ship concept exceeding 80,000 gross tonnage, at Seatrade Cruise Global in Miami. The project aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by up to 95%, showcasing sustainable innovations in shipping. The battery systems are supplied by Corvus Energy, a leading Norwegian maritime battery provider. Fredrik Witte, CEO of Corvus Energy, highlighted the collaboration with Meyer Werft as a milestone demonstrating the maturity and safety of fully electric cruise ship technology.
