Celsius Tankers, a subsidiary of Denmark’s Celsius Shipping, has reportedly placed a new order for an LNG carrier at South Korea’s Samsung Heavy Industries. The shipbuilding contract, valued at approximately KRW 770 billion ($514 million), was confirmed by Samsung Heavy in a regulatory filing. While the shipyard identified the buyer only as an Oceania-based owner, industry sources have linked the order to Celsius Tankers as part of their ongoing fleet expansion in the gas shipping sector.
