Remontowa Delivers Electric Ferry BJARKØY to Torghatten Nord AS

capacity of approximately 2.3 MWh and features two azimuth thrusters with vertically mounted electric motors. For reliability, the ferry is also equipped with two backup generator sets. The batteries are recharged from the shore grid during loading and unloading, as each crossing takes no more than 12 minutes. The vessel was constructed based on a design by The Norwegian Ship Design Company, with working documentation support from Remontowa Marine Design & Consulting.
