On March 19, the 174,000-cbm LNG carrier Greenergy Wind, independently designed and constructed by Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding, was officially named. As the fifth vessel in CNOOC’s Greenergy Series, this new carrier is set to bolster China’s capabilities in LNG transportation. The vessel features advanced technology, including a dual-fuel main engine with intelligent Control Exhaust Gas Recirculation (iCER) system, providing operational efficiency and adaptability. The event marks a significant step in enhancing China’s independent LNG transport capacity and its influence in the international LNG market. Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding, a global leader in large LNG carriers, continues to expand China’s presence in the sector, currently holding nearly 60 LNG ship orders.
