On March 18, 2026, the Shipping Corporation of India Ltd. signed a contract with Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited to construct and deliver a 3000 DWT Methanol Dual Fuel Diesel Electric Platform Supply Vessel. This pioneering vessel is the first of its kind in India, marking a significant move towards a low-carbon maritime future and supporting the country's Net Zero initiatives. The project also aligns with the Maritime India Vision 2030, Maritime Amrit Kaal Vision 2047, and the National Green Hydrogen Mission, aiming to bolster indigenous shipbuilding and create a globally competitive maritime sector.
