On March 4, 2026, CSSC Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding Co. Ltd. and China Shipbuilding Trading Co., Ltd. (CSTC) signed contracts with Korea's NAMSUNG Shipping and DONGYOUNG Shipping for the construction of two 4300TEU and two 1900TEU container vessels. This marks the first cooperation between Huangpu Wenchong and the two Korean shipowners, highlighting a milestone in China-Korea maritime relations. The 4300TEU ships, designed by SDARI, will feature green technologies and future-fuel readiness, while the 1900TEU vessels are part of Huangpu Wenchong's 'Honghu' series, noted for efficiency and flexibility.
