Greek shipowner Euroseas and South Korea’s HMM have announced significant newbuilding orders at Huanghai Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., totaling 18 container ships. Euroseas has ordered up to 6 high-specification 2,800 TEU container vessels, each featuring over 1,000 reefer plugs, targeting the refrigerated cargo market. The contract is valued at approximately US$46.35 million per ship, with deliveries set for June and August 2028. Meanwhile, HMM has signed for 12 feeder container ships, including five 1,800 TEU and seven 3,000 TEU vessels, scheduled for delivery from 2028 to 2029.
